    M1911 reduction cartridge

I've purchased a cartridge, which looked similiar to those which were used for the Kongsberg .22 System. Comparing it to the Kongsberg cartridge, it turned out to be different (and also not fitting into the Kongsberg chamber).

Does anyone here know for which system this cartridge was thought and used? Pictures show the cartridge compared to a Kongsberg (Kongsberg is Top one on first picture).

    Thanks!

It looks like it would fit a standard chamber of a 1911. I once saw something similar that was used to shoot .22 blanks in standard chambers. Hope that helps.

I have some of these steel 45 ACP adopters, mine chamber the 22 rim fire cartidge, there is also a special barrel for these adopters and a slide with a rim fire firing pin too. These were made in Norwayicon. These were used for training

Oh dear, how could I forget to try it in any other M1911 .. yup it is fitting. But was wondering too much why someone would fire a .22 from a .45 reduction cartridge, without having a barrel for the .22.

And RCS, the "Norwayicon" is shown in my pictures. I have one of those, but the recent addition is different.
