    Government Model sight

Does anyone know where i can get a new rear sight for my 1914 Commercial Government Model? I'm in the UKicon.

I want to replace a broken after-market one so it can be either original style or after-market.

BTW, I'm looking for solid information. That is say a supplier that has them in stock and is willing to ship them, rather than: "why don't you try xyz"

BTW, if NSA are monitoring this and passing it to GCHQ I have a Section 7 FAC.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Well oddly enough I just got a sight from an old friend. He didn't know that I was looking for one and I didn't know that he had one.

A quick question. When driving out the old sight and driving in the new is there a preferred direction - L to R or R to Left? That is to say is the dovetail tapered?

When in doubt, always remove from left and install from right. If you can, find someone with a sight pusher. Even using a brass drift you stand a chance of damaging the sight.
