Canadian purchase 1914 Colt Government Model

This 1914 Colt Government Model was sold to the government of Canadaicon in late 1914 for use by the Canadian Expeditionary Forces and/or sales to officers. This pistol was issued or sold to Major John Primrose McMillan. I found a reference listing for Major McMillan in the Canadian Archives online and hope to receive his records shortly through a fellow collector in Canada.

The pistol is original finish and does not show a lot of use. Both the pistol and holster bear Major McMillan's name. The C-Broad Arrow marked holster may have been manufactured for a Webley revolver, but only shows the wear patterns for this pistol. The extra magazines shown have the C-Broad Arrow marking on the bottom of the base and were already in my parts box prior to acquiring this pistol and holster.
