Naah.
I was here weeks ago, but posted after you using my flux capacitor.
FWIW; AFAIK; IMHO; YMMV; yadda, yadda, yadda.

Hello all...I hope everyone moves over to the new format...this has been a great site for a long time.
I would also like to thank the Culvers for their hard work maintaining the site.

Present and accounted for.
Is there a "preview" feature here before you hit post?
To have the option of reviewing your message prior to posting click on "Go Advanced" instead of using the "Quick Post" default option.

I think the original Guntalk started on or about 1998 on the CMP website when the Major was Operations Manager.
When he quit and moved to Idaho they started CSP.
I printed out quite a lot of the postings from then and put them in a binder as many were very informative.
My orginal handle was SK1 which I changed to my name.

about 1998  (fwiw, I stumbled upon it early in 2000)
and since then its been through three (rather painful) upgrades to become what it is today.
now I wonder ;;;;; who'll drop the plunger?

Been checking CSP for years and wish the best for the Major and Gloria. Thanks for maintaining the interest of a lot of opininated and hard headed folks with a common interest. The most comfortable site with a loyal bunch. Semper Fi .

One more here, and I'm sure a lot of the rest will trickle in here.
At least we got some advance notice from the Culvers (God Bless 'Em).
I've belonged to several forums that just suddenly moved and we lost a bunch of our most valuable members.
As popular as the Culvers are, I have high hopes that the word will get out soon.

I believe I was there in early '99, but may have been '98. I heard of Jouster.com while on the old Shooters.com "ShootersTalk HP forum". Anyone else recall that?
ANYWAY, I'm glad to be here, seeing some familiar folk, and hope others more too.

I haven't posted in quite a while, but check and read CSP site every morning. As with many of us I'd like to thank Dick and Gloria for all the work and pain they have gone through keeping the site up and alive and now finding us a new home.

Another day, another change. I hope this site is as successful as the old Jouster board.
Many thanks, Major & Gloria, for all you have done for the shooters and collectors over the years.
Made it also. New format may take awhile. Played taps and turned down the lights on old csp. Glad to see most made it over!

I'm here.
I was "Brian Davis" on Jouster, that name was already taken here so I've adopted a new handle......
I have been looking at Jouster for a lot of years, don't post much but read it every day. Hate to see the old board go away.
Many thanks to the Culver's for all of their work and bringing together so many people from all over the country.

I made it over. I've been reading CSP for a couple of years and enjoyed all the info. I saved all the articles and tips that I could into PDF but some links were dead. Looking forward to learning from you all. :runaway:2789

Hi All,
Nice of Doug to help out the CSP crowd, I know that he has a great web site here. One which I have gotten more enjoyment from reading than posting on. To be honest with you the amount of knowledge some of the posters have here makes it very hard to add to.
But if we have another cracker barrel forum, then we all can just chew the fat and have a good time.

I just registered on this site. Just watching a TV show called Law and Order: Special Victims. The point is that there is this character who owns several firearms. All are registered and legal, BUT of course he ends up being a macho, a...hole who gets arrested for beating his wife. Why do gun owners have to be the bad guys on TV shows?

I think I found CSP in 1998, and because of it, it got me to my first JC Garand Match in 2001. Thanks again Dick & Gloria!

don't want to pry, but this caught me a bit by surprise. I knew gloria had had a pretty bad horse accident a while back, sorry to hear they have had more problems, health and otherwise. Any info on how they are?
I 'm getting close enough to that age where i can see mortality. Still off in the distance, but i can see where the road leads.
What a great time it's been and the colonel and gloria deserve a lot of credit for garand/M1A and ar shooting and collecting activity. I can't begin to imagine the time they've put into the sport.
Glad to see Barb advertising here too. Bought a number of parts from her back in the glory garand days and had a lot of fun corresponding

Hold down ctrl while tapping the + key will make the fonts bigger here and on just about anything on the web. Ctrl and the middle wheel on the mouse will do the same thing if you have one.

Made it from CSP which I migrated to when the old G&K forum went under after Mark Bitting died. Since I was already registered on this site, made it a little easier to come over. Just had to work out how to post an avatak. Dave_n

Made it over a couple of days ago now. I found CSP around 2000 or so. Had trouble logging in for at least 6-8 months. Just happened to check and found this switch underway--so for me it works out.
Sure did miss the give & take, and great stories and info. Here's wishing the Culvers the best.

I remember when CSP first started up, but it really took off after the old Gun & Knife Forum went under do to all the feuding on the M1 Carbine sections. Gloria was a God send because she wouldn't put up with any of that crap in her house.

I have been around for a few days reading various posts and trying to get acquainted with the new format. I believe we all will eventually find it as easy to use as the previous CSP site. I like the feature that I can go scroll up and see the other posts regarding the subject matter as it makes it easier to comment rather than commenting from memory. I have a good memory its just short these day.
As I write this I now see that there are additional pages so I don't know where this post will end up. Guess I will have to watch for additional pages before posting. It will be a learning experience for me and I suppose others that are not familiar with this format.
Looking forwad to the old Gang being here on all the various formus.

Lots of personalization here to suit everyone .... ;)
Here's a trick for those who instead prefer something like the old Jouster style of thread presentation. Look up to the right of any post which happens to be the FIRST one in any thread and see the the button called Display Modes ... ;)
Click on it and test out the different looks to see if there's one you're more comfortable with than the default Linear Mode mode.
There's one that's very close to Jouster's style ... :)

I agree, there are many benefits to this style forum software.
I can be just as much a Luddite as anybody else, a few years ago the C-130 board that I spend a lot of time on changed from the old "thread only" style to this style.
I hated it and said goodbye to the board for a few months but the urge for a Herk fix made me make the change; after you get used to it I would really hate to go back to the old style.
Some of the real obvious benefits are the ability to post multiple pictures in the same post and the biggie for me is the ability to EDIT your post afterwords, I hate misspelled or wrong words but I would never notice it until the post had been submitted.
Those that don't make it over will show back up again as soon as they miss the old hangout, and once they get used to it they too wouldn't go back.
Dan
