...but I feel like I need to make a post to this new setup. I traded a rack grade HRA for this a few years back. The only Winchester parts that I'm aware of are the receiver and stock. Hope you like it...

Is that a Walnut Stock? Nice looking rifle with fine tiger striping. Have a WW2 era M1 Garand with Walnut wood having some strip on both stock and front handguard. Attached to this posting is a photo from an original negative in my collection. Picture was made a Springfield Armory in July 1941. Take a look at that stock! Over the years I've heard numerous statements that M1 Garand service rifles didn't come from the armory with fancy wood. Here's a piece of proof . . . . Best of luck to you!

Quahog,
Thanks, and yes the stock is walnut. It was so filthy with dirt and grease when I received it that it was nearly black. I didn't do anything with it for quite a while and then decided to give it a good cleaning. Man was I pleasantly surprised when I saw what was under the dirt.

The stock in your photo has an awful lot of figure in the wood. Wonder if it's still out there somewhere.
