Do you have a 1946-1949 dated Long Branch?

Do any 1946-48 dated Long Branch No4s exist? Has anyone seen one?
I have seen #7s dated '46 & '47?, but never a No4.

Trying to establish serial # range & totals of 1949s.

claimed lowest '49 is 89L (believed from Stratton) I have personally observed a 90Lx as dated 1945 (outside the No4T series)

I don't believe they exist, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I have seen a '47 dated No7 which was assembled as a .303 (the fellow who bought it had a LB no4 w/a .22 bbl, so he just swapped bbls).

I have a 43 and a 49. I've been looking for any Long Branch rifle to buy in good shape, not many for sale apparently.

I wonder why Long Branch was making Enfields in 1949? There must have been many thousands of WWII rifles stockpiled, they were as common as dirt...was it just to keep the factory running and operational? I don't think they knew the Korean war was coming up in a year then did they?

You are right to ignore the LongBranch 4T serial numbers. They were made in a reserved batch of serial numbers, so their production may not fall in with the then concurrent production serial numbers of regular rifles.
