Contest to rename the idiot scratch

I posted these on another thread and decided to start a new thread with it and see where it goes.

1.Why is the drill sergeant yelling at me while I'm trying to field strip my Colt.....scratch!
    2. Why is the enemy shooting at me can't they see I'm in the middle of cleaning my 1911A1....scratch!
    3. Oops these things are really tight when they're new.... scratch!

I know they're a little long but you get the point.
If there's a better name for it please share it. Thanks

I never really saw it as an idiot scratch anywayzzz, some things just happen in service. Now, if it was a series 70 or 80 out of the box, that might be different.
    Regards, Jim

How about the "Uh-oh!! Booboo".... scratch? Then again nobody will know what your talking about when you say "I'm looking at a used Colt commander, guy wants $900, but its got a nasty Uh-oh!! booboo scratch" Then what happens? I'll tell ya. Your buddy's at the fun shop/range are going to give you a blank stare which will be VERY uncomfortable.....

Now, if you say "I'm looking at a used Colt commander, guy wants $900, but its got a nasty Idiot scratch" Your buddy's will suggest you offer $100 bucks less and you'll be respected a little bit more because you look like you know what your talking about when it comes to the 1911 pistol, New or used an old warhorse or a race gun...

Regardless, My entry for the contest is "Oh-oh!! booboo"....scratch.

Why does it need a name at all? It's just a scratch, no different than any other except we all know how it got there and why. We just don't know when. Could've been made in service or out.
So, seeing as how the term idiot scratch appears to be offensive to some and the object of this thread is to rename it how about calling it the ''$h!t happens'' scratch.

I have been calling it a "take down scratch" for a while now. "Re-assembly scratch" is probably more accurate, but in still like the "take down scratch"...
