Never posted pictures on the other CSP board, and find it much easier to do it here. About a month ago I asked a value for a model 97 winchester and did not really know the condition in order to sell it in Louisville. It was said that if anyone who asks those kind of questions, they need to post pictures. I'm to slow in the head to figure it out before, but now here are the pictures. I've seen them go at the gun shows in my area for around $3000.00 similar to yours

Hard to give you a value just from the photos. But a 98% original WW2 M97 trench gun can be worth over $5,000.

By the way, the W marked bayonet adaptor is most likely a replacement. Your gun was made before they started to "W" mark the adaptors.

What is the thought on the U.S. ordnance mark on wolfganggross's shotgun?

It's one of the lowest numbered Model 97 trench guns I think I've observed with the Ord Bomb on the receiver. Most in that serial number range only are marked with the US.

Also, both the US and Ord Bomb marks look as though they are slightly further forward than on other guns with both marks.

I am no expert on Trench guns but the two U. S. and markings were not applied with the same dies or stamps for sure.
