I have an windage knob on my (just about correct) HRA Garand that has no markings. I know the books say that this knob should be marked HRA-W or HRA or even DRC to be "correct". Is it possible that mine with no markings is correct? The coloration seems to match the rest of the rear sight and all the other metal. Thoughts, please........

Bear57 you know when it comes to Garands never say never. But I have never seen a correct HRA with no markings on the windage knob. So if your asking, no it isn't correct in my opinion. Maybe somebody else might chime in.

just checked mine, its markede "drc" just what does that mean? I bought it a couple months ago aqnd it looked terrible in the shop where I bought it but I happened to notice that the metal parts I could see looked like new. So I bought it the stock I took off and sanded all down and filled in the dents and chips, while I had it apart I looked at the hidden metal. It looks like about maybe one clip has been fire thru it and all the parts are brand new. It was made in the springfield armory . after staining and waxing the stock and putting it back together with a new leather strap It is now the best looking gun I own, sea

Check the knob very carefully, and tilt it back and forth in bright light. I have seen many DRC knobs that were very lightly marked, almost to the point of being invisible.
