To day i bought a box of 50 aguila 30 cal. here in Ga. $21 before tax.:yikes:, I have not bought any in a long time, does that seem kinda high? I had already been to three gun stores with no luck and this store only had about 6 box's left. The last 2 gun show's i went to Ga. arm's was also out. lboos.

That's pretty much true all over the ammo "spectrum". I believe the cheapest I say it was at a gunshow for @ $15.00 -- and that was about four months ago.

I hope after the Obama scare settles down, so will the prices.

If not, time to stock up for the revolution!

Right now it is best to sit back and wait for your favorite ammo sellers to get ammo in. Aim had 30 carbine for about 2 days, $15.75 a box. Carbine ammo on Gunbroker has been selling for $35 to $50 a box. Found some 38 special FMJ for $12.49 a box, was gone the next day. Check the sellers daily, when they get your caliber in and it is a good price, jump on it, don't wait.

I think it'll go back down, but I bet we'll never see $10 a box carbine ammo again. :(

One of our forum members found 25-30 boxes at the Cabelas in Fort Worth yesterday.
Out of desperation today I bought two boxes of Remington UMC. Marked price was $27.99 but checked out at $25.99.
Even at $25.99 I couldn't make myself go back for the last two boxes. I got what I needed for the time being. The last two boxes are for the next guy to make the drive.

Yea, this is definitely a case of "if you haven't started reloading yet, why are you waiting?".... While a small rifle primers are hard to find, everything else is available to reload (especially if you kept your old brass). Even with primers at $30 per thousand and FMJ's for $15 per hundred, you can make 50 rounds of carbine for $10 per box... that pays for a press very quickly. I just can not justify buying target ammo for $25 or more a box. Now if I can just talk all you guys into sending me your used brass....

Sounds like a bargain ... only .30 carbine ammo we saw at the gun show in Conroe (TX) a week ago Saturday was Aguila at $29 + tax/box of 50.
