You have a typical rebuilt carbine, refinished and containing a mix of parts. The barrel date looks good. The trigger housing is a fabricated one that was not used by Inland. The stock is a wartime replacement. AAM is your rebuild mark, Augusta Arsenal, inspected by 'M'. I'd say the value in your carbine is it's status as a legitimate government rebuild such as might have been sold by DCM at some time in the past. Probably around $500 if in top mechanical shape. Parted out it would bring more - a case of the 'sum' being worth less than the parts! If the barrel is really the right one, the barreled receiver would probably bring that much. Then you have the housing which guys are always looking for. The stock is very nice from what I can see although I have my doubts about that Ordnance stamp. I'd say you have about $800 worth of parts there.

the stock is good it came from DCM. Friends dad had it but passed away now he wants to sell it to me. I do not know what year he got it but my buddy said his dad had it as long as he could remember.

He said it is the same stock he remembers from the early 70's and no I'am not worried about him pulling a fast one. I have not looked in my books to match it yet.

Charlie, I have seen other replacement stocks with the same small cross cannon stamp on the right side. I'm pretty sure it's legit.

The condition of your carbine appears to be better than average. I would place it's value at higher than the $500 that CMP is currently getting. If you happen to have the DCM paperwork, that would also increase its value somewhat.

Agreed, the ord wheel is legit. Have that same stock, and have seen others, with the same wheel and it's always on a "J" stock.

Yup! That's the ordnance stamp placed on replacement stocks made by Jamestown Lounge for stocks that were sent to the arsenals as replacement parts instead of to the carbine manufacturers. I've had at least a half dozen over the years.
