    Base price for 1911's

Items For Sale At Auction - GUN AND SPORTSMAN AUCTION in Corry, Pa

It the fifth row down are two 1911 pistols that look OK despite the the low picture quality. I don't own one and I might take a chance after I look at them. I know there are some some things out of my control here.

What should I bid as a base price? Thanks!

Are you close enough to view before the auction? I hate it when they post no description & poor pictures.

The first one looks like the edges are sharp enough to be original finish, although I think there is scattered rust/pitting. Is the SN 260k range? Just can't tell. If I couldn't get a better look before the auction, I would take a chance on $1K. The other one, maybe $350; it could turn out to be a junker.
