I was wondering as long as old site is running and posting, if we will ever get any significant number of folks on this site.

Definitely, traffic is very, very slow here. Registration will take its toll and finding site in this melage of boards here will discourage many from coming and ever looking.:(

I also wonder if a link can be kept posted and open on the old address to re-direct lookers and the lost to this site. Otherwise, we will loose most of the readers and posters. Then we will become like the 14 or 15 other "M1 Garand" boards out there, with five members and even fewer posters.:(

Sad to see the old board go, but change is inevitable. Probably will lose most and possibly gain a few new users. Don't know, but we ought to try to help those who came to Jouster to get help for firearms issues. :o

It will take years to rebuild readers and posters though. Sad, but likely true:(

Don't know, but I hadn't been able to get into the old site for months. This one was a snap--considering my computer skills.

So far both seem to be running parallel. I find myself checking both. I liked the convenience of the old site but I do not miss the spam..

There is talk of trying to salvage it. Dang I wish I had the Culvers' address - I would certainly like to mail them a real Thank-You note. Old age... not a fun time for most of us...

Efforts to salvage and/or reinvigorate the old site have come to naught. The old CSP is dead - all I get is the dreaded '404'

So it goes.

I can still log on but, IMHO, we should all move on. Sorry to see it go but this new forum is more to my taste.

The voices of many Jousters asking to keep the old forum running were silenced today. I'm done and logging out. Jouster was great while it lasted, hate to see it gone.

I believe that we all will miss all the great times we had on CSP1.:(

Yeah I just tried to log on today at 7:38 PM CT. My last post was over lunch today - guy having problem with reduced capacity 2 and 5 rd. clips. I guess that was "it" for me and the old forum...

Shooter I'm sure we can make this place just as good as the old CSP. We have all the ground work already in place. We need a few newbies to ask some questions to get us off and running just like the good old days...

We can always bring back the old days as a quiz from back around 2001 with some of the great B. R. collection from the famous air force base. I remember being threatened with a lawsuit over that one. B.R. even tried collective getting everyone from the forum to help sue me.

I got a ton of um. Rick B

yes, the old days were great....

BUT :beerchug: the spammers had taken over the old site and the new version is much more user friendly to my taste.

As I've been unable to post for several weeks this new site is well received.

thanks to all who make this site possible

Haven't been home all day. Just returned from a gun show west of the city and tried to check CSP but as stated it is gone.
Sad to see it go, I learned quite a lot hanging out there. I see many of the same names here so maybe we can keep the spirit of the CSP going.

Thanks to all the answers to my questions in the past.

Thanks for your help .... it's appreciated ...

Just to clarify for everyone, ALL of the Major's old articles are being saved and they will be posted here in the new CSP forums. As I hope you all appreciate, the amount of work migrating an entire community in less than a week to this new site, has been enormous.

We're working diligently to answer hundreds of emails from people with questions, along with gradually improving the functions and features you have here in the new CSP forums. As you can see, we've added the WTS/WTB forums back on, although we still have some technical issues not being able to "delete" posts of sold items. Thanks to those that reported that problem. We're working on it ...

We released them a little earlier than we wanted because we hadn't completed testing, but everyone was clamoring with posting noise about wanting them NOW, so we pushed them out before we should have. Sorry about that ... :o

In any event, the Milsurps.Com staff, programming folks and moderators are doing everything they can to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable in this transition environment, until Dick and Gloria get the opportunity to decide what they want to do next.

We do apologize to those that may feel our efforts are falling short of their expectations, but we're working on the issues as fast as we can in priority order.

We appreciate any support you can offer...

Thank you CSP Administrator!

I'm sure the majority of our group appreciate your efforts very much. Thanks for providing a place to keep our group together and for preserving the invaluable information from the old CSP site.

I too am very thankfull for the monumental job the administrators here have done. Every time I use it, it gets a bit easier for me.

I would just like to hear from the Culvers or just some information on how they are doing.

Like all of us, they are not getting any younger.

I was able to copy some to the forum at Parallax and I printed everything in the articles section. Most of the Major's Sea Stories are on Parallax and some of the tech stuff. The Serial Number articles, US Corrosive headstamp article and the exchange between Eagle 1 and Dick about IHC Garands is there as well. I was active at the old boards for a few years from '99 or so under a diff handle. I sure learned a lot there.
