I have been reading Military Small Arms of the 20th Century by Hogg & Weeks. They mention that the Ross Rifle Mk.IIIB was adopted by the British Army in 1915. This Ross was the same as the Mk.III except it had a magazine cut-off added above the magazine. Was it the same as the Lee Enfield magazine cut-off? Does anyone have a photo of the cut-off they could post?

IIIB had the same cutoff/bolt release as the Canadian model not as mentioned. IIIB differred in front and rear sights. An example of several errors in an otherwise good book.

The IIIB rifles illustrated in "The Ross Rifle Story" show no cut-off different from the Cdn. issue rifle. Couldn't find any reference to a unique cut-off, although I only took a quick look. Doubt that anything different was used. The standard Mk. III bolt stop/bolt release/magazine cutoff is very much like the unit used on the '03 springfield.
