Help to ID a Recoil plate...WJ..

I'm pulling the metal off a fresh shipment of stocks.
Found a Milled Type III Recoil plate with WJ on the bottom.
Any idea of maker or it's useage?

It did come off a stock marked JL-B in the slingwell, (very hard to make out the B ). The color of this stock has that Salmon colored wood...after spot stripping where the rack paint was. I thought it was birch before seeing the slingwell markings.
I was looking hard for a CC but none to be found.
Do you think it's just a WWII replacement part?
Or possibly made for one of the prime makers?
Maybe just recoil plates made for JL's War time replacement stocks.

Several years ago I picked up a nice original NPM in the 4.28m range, from their late production. There was a small repair in the recoil plate area, nicely done and looks like it could have been a factory repair. Pulled the recoil plate and it was marked WJ. Kind of odd that it would be in an original gun, I thought. Looked the gun over for any signs that it was a restoration and can't find any so who knows where it came from. :confused:

Charlie, are you sure you were looking in the right spot for the CC? It would be very small and located on the right side al the way forward practicallt on the pistol grip section. They are often hard to see, even if they are there.

That's just where I looked and then some. I've found no matter how hard you try... (or wish/pray) ...if it ain't there...it just ain't there!
