Anyone ever seen one of these before? Any idea who produced it and for what purpose? :dunno: I think its pretty cool, though I wish they had reversed sides for both images. I think it would have looked better that way. It is 1 9/16" in diameter and 1/8" thick. It has a hefty feel to it, though I'm sure its probably pot metal or something. There also appears to be a space below the eagle to maybe engrave someone's name. Well, anyway, there it is. If anyone knows anything about it, I'd sure appreciate the details. TIA

I'd like to have one, where did you get it?

Got it from an individual who was selling some carbine "stuff" on one of the ad boards. He really couldn't remember where he got it or anything about it. I was very happy to get it as it is the kind of thing I like, inexpensive and cool!

Interesting that the carbine has a flip sight AND a bayonet lug!

Bought 2 last December on e-bay for about $21.00 including shipping. He was also considering having one done for Garand, but not seen either since. Guy is: Ben Schaefer, 9380 Algoma Ave NE Rockford, MI 49341. schaeferb@msn.com
Good luck -- they are nice.

I have one that I purchased on eBay. I had intentions to put it in the stock of an Iver Johnson carbine I have but decided I like both sides of the coin. So instead of hiding one side in the inlay, I can flip it over in my fingers and dwell on the stories those names around the rim stand for.

There is a similar coin on eBay right now. Item number: 190291525365

It's not as nice as the carbine coin.

That guy that sold it to you was really swell .....

I still can't believe that the postal service almost destroyed and lost it for you, oh well, I'm glad it got through.

Pat

I also got one last year off ebay, $10 delivered. Can't remeber the seller name, and it's too old to look up the item discriptions. I thought it was cool too.

$10 delivered?!! :ugh: That's it Pat, fork over the extra 5 bucks!!

I am very pleased with it, it is unique. Just wish the guy would have put just a little more thought into the design. Otherwise, a very nice keepsake.

The funny thing, is that I don't even remember where I got it, or what I paid.

Now, if you really like some shiny coins, I have some of those silver dollar sized Chinese trade dollars left over (have to be reproductions for I paid for them) that I bought at a flea market and used for my sons birthday scavenger hunt!!!
