I have always wanted one of these Colt DA Model 1917s. They are a handful of pistola!!! I have owned a 1917 S&W, but not a Colt...
The serial number is 106002, which should put about 1917....
When this one came by, I had to have it....:thup:

I think you need a set of smooth walnut stocks for that, don't you? Nice old gun though.

Very nice, John. Always had a hankering for one of those, too. The Smith is nice, but that New Service/Colt 1917 is just a massive pistola!

I really like my 1917 S&W but I think the Colt is made better,(just my opinion).

They can shoot real good too. Here's what I did with mine. Of course this doesn't happen every time. It's funny, I have 3 Colt 1917's and the worst(still good shape) shoots better than the other two that are really nice.
