Good thing it was never adopted. Imagine trying to extract that from a German under fire. The bloody big hook on the back would make it a bugger.

There was a method of un-sticking a bayonet that would probably work as well with that one as any other. All you had to do was cock the rifle and pull. If done correctly it loosened itself and came out easy;)

Yeah, no kidding. It's like those sites that are selling reproduction German Luger holsters, made in China but made the old way, with hand stitching and everything. For a few dollars premium, you can specify which year or maker code you want. Give it another two years and original leather for Lugers (or anything for that matter) will be worthless as it will be impossible to tell what's real and what's not. Buy one of those repros, leave it out on your lawn a few nights with the sprinklers on, then drive over it and bingo, you've got a VBB holster. Same with these bayonets. Someone will stamp some fake WD stamps on them and catch some unsuspecting person flat out..........
