If you are coming from outside the U.S. you may need an ATF 6NIA permit to bring your gun in for the shoot. I have posted a letter from ATF in the Reference section of British Militaria at Temporary Imporation of a Firearm into the U.S. - The Reference Library - Other Features - British Militaria Forums - Message Board - Yuku (http://britishmilitariaforums.yuku.com/topic/8402) The letter details the procedures for persons wishing to temporarily bring in firearms from out side the U.S. for the Montana shoot.

I'll summarize what the letter says, but read the letter for specific details.
Any firearm made prior to 1899 does not need an ATF permit to be imported. If your gun is not made with the year of Manufacture you will need a letter of authenticity or other documentation to establish that it was made prior to 1899.

If your firearm was made in or after 1899 you will need to get a Temporary Import Permit ATF Form 6NIA. You can download the form from the ATF Website. To find the form go to ATF Online - Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (www.atf.gov) When the site opens look on the left for forms and click on that. When the Forms page open scroll down to the list to 5300 Firearms and ammunition programs. and click on that. Scroll down the list of forms and find ATF F 5330.3D (Form 6 NIA) and click on that. A PDF form will open. Complete the form and submit it to ATF for approval.

If you are bringing ammunition you will need to include that ammuntion on the application. If you are bringing ammunition for an antique rifle you will need to have a permit for that ammunition even though you don't need a permit for the firearm.

When you submit your application for the permit you will also need to submit supporting documentation for bringing your firearms and ammunition to the U.S. The two types of documention is a valid state hunting license showing you are going hunting or an invitation to a Bonafide Shooting event.

You should submit your application well in advanced as it takes ATF 6 to 12 Weeks to process the Application. Even it you are not sure you are coming or not submit your application now.

If you are intending to go to the Alberta shoot you will need to submit two applications. One application to enter the U.S. from your home country and one application to enter the U.S. from Canada.

It is strongly suggested that you make lodging reservations as soon as possible. There will construction crews coming in for the next increment of windmills for the windfarm and lodging will be at a premuim.

Other nearby towns are Shelby, 35 miles, Conrad 50 miles and Valier 25 miles. Valier may have some bed and breakfast but no motels.

First follow your map-GPS-instinct to Cut Bank MT.

From the EAST (I-15-Shelby) Go to the traffic light and turn right-north .

From the WEST go to the traffic light and turn left-north.

From the NORTH, if you see this, stop and turn around and go back North, you missed the first turn.

From the traffic light go north 2.3 miles to Lahr Road. Olson Road is on the left, west. Lahr Road is on the right east.

If you are coming from the North this is where you should have turned instead of going on into town. Lahr Road is on the left, east. Olson Road is on the right west.

Turn East on Lahr Road.

Go 3 miles east on Lahr Road to the T intersection with Meadowbrook Road.
