So this one was a surprise.

The best 100 yard Fig 14 I ever fired and the rifle that did it. I claim the flyer as my own---it wasn't the rifle.
PURPOSE

This manual is a reference handbook published as an aid in planning, training, familiarization and identification of small arms ammunition, ranging from 22 caliber through 30 millimetre and shotgun ammunition from .410 to 10 gage. This is the Federal Supply Class 1305. Operating instructions are contained in the appropriate weapons manuals.
SCOPE

For each item of materiel, there are illustrations and descriptions together with characteristics and related data. Included in the related data are weights, dimensions, performance data, shipping and storage data, type classification, and logistics control code (LCC). Refer to SC 1305/30-IL for weight, dimensions and cube of packing boxes for small arms ammunition.

I have some questions concerning the sighting in process of a DCM Ar15 I purchased yesterday. It's a Bushmaster and comes with an instruction sheet...

I have some questions concerning the sighting in process of a DCM Ar15 I purchased yesterday. It's a Bushmaster and comes with an instruction sheet for sighting separate from the standard operations manual.

The manual calls for a 25 yard zero and gives thorough instructions. The DCM instruction sheet calls for a "good 100 yard zero and set the elevation drum to the 8/3 or 6/3 setting".

My biggest question is; do I follow the manual and zero at 25 and then zero at 100? Or do I go right to 100 and zero?

What about the front post? The manual says move the front post while zeroing at 25. The DCM instruction sheet doesn't mention the movement of the front post. Do I follow the "manual" instructions when it comes to raising elevation with the front post while zeroing at 100?

Another question, the manual says the front post moves the shot group up 3/8 in. at 25 meters per click but then the DCM instruction sheet says the front post has to moved in "complete revolutions" because only one side is designed to be facing the shooter. So that means you can only move the front post up and down in larger increments, instead of 3/8 at a time at 25 meters, you have to go 1 1/2 at a time because you have to move the front post one entire rotation up or down; doesn't that make for less precise zeroing?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Also, this is my second civilian AR and I used one in the military as well, so I know the basics, just a little unsure with the DCM version. I decided to make the transition because I was tired of getting beat up by an M1 at the High Power competitions! I think accuracy might have had a little to do with it as well!

i have a built up dpms lower with a nm armalite stainless upper,

in the prone position seem to be having some left hand sling issues and i just might need a hand stop with the flat top

shot a match sun, first match shot a 188/10, second 182/7, third 174/5, fourth 168/3.. more that i shot, the more fidgety i got and comfort level went wrong way!!

after first match just could not get comfortable in my normal prone position, 2nd time shooting this rifle, adhesive just did not seem to solve the problem. need to work on position some, but can not let left hand go all way forward, because my neck just does not bend 90 degrees to get behind sight, am rather large and i need to compensate for this and get left arm in a good position and somehow relax it

suggestions

armalit has nothing to add or nothing to advise about a different fore end for the ar??

Had a fella give me 1000 CCI #400 small rifle primers. Anyone have first hand
experience using these in their AR? Been reading some info on the net - it's 50-50 on them, some folks say thats all they've used for years and no problems and others said they have had slam fires because they are soft.
I've always thought CCI's are the hardest of primers. I know CCI make the mil-spec primers, I'm asking about the #400's.

If anyone loads with these place let me know your thoughts.

Thanks a bunch

Hello, I'm brand new to the forum.

I am hoping to find a 1:4 scale M16A4 for a display for my daughter who graduates Marine Corps Boot Camp 20 November , however any 1:4 scale M16will be acceptable.

I've located a very sharp inexpensive ($7.95) 1:6 scale plastic M16 but I really need to have the 1:4 scale if possible.

I appreciate your expertise and comments!

For those of us who live in California, this is the ticket. I just picked this rifle up and it really shoots. It is a didicated rimfire that really shoots. It even looks authentic. With the price of ammo these days this is a winning combination. The rifle weighs at about 6 pounds. It is all metal. The bore is 223. The barrel is a steel liner. You can tighten up the barrel for more accuracy. The barrel extends into the receiver to meet the bolt. There is a forward assist for just looks. It even has a flash hider and bayonet mount. The carry handle will come off and you can scope it with what ever. The sights are standard M4 sights. The bolt is user adjustable for standard velocity or high speed ammo. It came with a 10 round magazine. At 50 yards with CCI green tag groups were about an inch outer ring to outer ring. CCI mini mags were less than an inch. I did not like the trigger it broke at about 8 pounds.
Once the shooting starts it will empty the magazine very fast. There is nothing in the rifle that can be exchanged or built into an AR 15. It is not interchangable. Price $599 add DROS and TAX to this. I have heard there is a Smith and Wesson out there but have not seen this rifle. Yes I do like this rifle. No problems yet after shooting 500 rounds through it. Not a misfire.
