I am desperately looking for a reliable source for parts for Ross Rifles. Specifically, I need the ladder portion of a Sutherland rear sight for a Model 1905 Ross Mark II*** Rifle. Can anyone help?

Have heard that a fellow named Warren Wheatfield in Canada has them, but cannot get an e-mail address on him, either.

Any help greatly appreciated.

What is the Photo Gallery for Members?

What is the *Photo Gallery* for Members?

What is the Photo Gallery for Members?

(Click PIC to Enlarge)

In simple terms, Photo Gallery is a free on-line photographic digital album environment, which permits members to store their pictures on the Milsurps.Com hosting server, in a similar fashion to the well known PhotoBucket Internet commercial site. These pics may be organized into electronic albums and viewed by other members, as well as the software provides the capability to easily cut-n-paste those same pics into any post being created on the Milsurps.Com site.

The hard disk storage space on our server is limited, so there are a few restrictions on the amount of albums and images various membership levels may utilize.

A standard Registered Member who uses all of the resources of this web site completely free, is restricted to 2 albums, each of which can be no more than 20 images each, for a total of 80 photos.

A Contributing Member is restricted to 20 albums, each of which can be no more than 40 images each, for a total of 800 photos. This also applies to all Moderators and our Milsurps Advisory Panel Members (click here).

Although the Military Surplus Collectors Forums are free to everyone interested in our chosen hobby, members of this special group are people who have graciously chosen to voluntarily donate a nominal amount of money, to help defray several thousand dollars in annual system bandwidth, server, disk storage and maintenance costs.

Contributing Members also enjoy value added services such as full access to the resources of our Appraisals and Mediation Forum (click here), no limits to classified ad posting in the Quartermaster Stores (click here), plus twenty (20) additional FREE credits that may be applied towards displaying featured ads at the top of the forums home page.

For more information on How do I become a "Contributing Member" (click here)?

A quick primer on using the Military Surplus Collectors Forums Photo Gallery.

How to create a new gallery:

Go to the Photo Gallery (click here).

Click "Manage My Photo Gallery" in the lower gallery navbar.

In the First required field, enter the gallery title.

Fill in any additional required fields.

Click the "Submit" button.

Edit the description of your gallery on the next screen, if necessary, and upload photos.

Click "Finished" when done.

How to add/upload photos to a gallery:

Go to the photo gallery.

Click "Manage My Photo Gallery" in the lower gallery navbar.

Click on the "edit" button for the gallery that you wish to add a photo to.

Below the edit box for the description, locate the "Choose" and "Upload" buttons. Type in a description of the photo then choose a photo. After you select it, click "Upload" to begin uploading the File. Max size is 1MB (1024000 bytes).

New photos are added to the bottom of the photo list. You will get an upload finished message when the file is added. Edit the description if necessary or delete the photo if you change you mind about posting it.

Click "Finished" above the "choose" and "Upload" buttons when done.

NOTE: The photo upload will fail if the photo is bigger than 1MB (1 Megabyte), or 1024000 bytes. This means that you MAY be required to re-size your photo before uploading it. If you don't have Microsoft's FREE Image Resizer (click here) called Image Resizer (This FREE PowerToy enables you to resize one or many image files with a right-click), then click on the link provider and install it on your system. You can continue to upload photos by clicking the "Choose..." button and repeating cycle. When finished uploading the last photo, click the "Finished" button.

How to edit a photo description:

Go to the photo gallery.

Click "Manage My Photo Gallery" in the lower gallery navbar.

Click on the "edit" button for the gallery that you wish to edit a photo in.

Find the photo you wish to edit the description of and click the "[Edit Desc]" link on the far right.

When the editor appears, enter the new description and click "save". Click "Cancel" if you change your mind.

Click "Finished" at the top of the photo list when done.

How to feature a photo in a gallery:

When editing or adding a new gallery, there is a "Featured Photo" text input box just above the image upload button.

Locate the photo you want to feature in your gallery in the list and put the image id number of it in the "Featured Photo" text input box.

Click "Finished"

Whenever you view that gallery, the featured photo you have selected will be displayed on the view gallery page.

Setting the "Featured Photo" text input box to 0 will show a random photo on the view gallery page.

How to delete photos from a gallery:

Go to the photo gallery.

Click "Manage My Photo Gallery" in the lower gallery navbar.

Click on the "edit" button for the gallery that you wish to delete a photo from.

Find the photo you wish to delete and click the delete link. Confirm you are sure and the photo is deleted.

Click "Finished" above the photo list when done.

How to delete a complete gallery:

Go to the photo gallery.

Click "Manage My Photo Gallery" in the lower gallery navbar.

Click on the "delete" button for the gallery that you wish to delete.

You are asked to confirm the deletion. Confirm you are sure and the gallery is deleted including all photos.

How to get an image link to insert in one of your posts:

Click on a photo name in the "Full Size Image Pages" list in your gallery to show the full size photo.

Under the photo find "IMG BBCODE:" box in the description table.

Click on the input box with the image URL in it..

Right click the Blue highlighted text.

Select Copy.

Go to the post you want the link URL in and right click the mouse and click paste.

NOTE: Besides being able to insert images from the Photo Gallery as described above, many members use other sites to link their images to posts here, or insert their pics directly into their posts as file attachments.
