Good Morning. Just got started on my first MH in 40 years. Beautiful rifle but in need of some parts and a good gunsmith. First, need to replace the lower stock pin holding in the lower band. Looks like a heavy gauge wire was used and I cannot find a replacement at the usual sites. Second, the head of the small firing pin retaining screw in the breechblock is broken off. Too small for me to tackle. I need a recommendation on a good gunsmith who can extract and not damage the threads. Thanks, Randy

Hi - regarding the Martini action .22s is there any kind of guidance experts here could give for a keen historic rifle shooter looking to get one?
Which are the most desirable types
Is the full lengh conversion better than a carbine (from a shooting and desirability perspective)?
Were any actually converted by the military and if so what markings would be best to look for? Also what should one look for in the civilian conversions?

Sorry am completely ignorant in this field and a brief bit of research hasn't yielded much useful information as yet.

Thanks

I got 26 rounds of ammo that has been made from cbc shotgun brass. its loaded with a 470 grain bullet and black powder. I pulled a round down and it has around 85 grains of coarse black powder and 25 grains of some sort of filler like coarse sawdust. this was all tightly packed into the case.
Is this a normal load?
