L'autore del libro lo definisce VERY RARE. Accetto offerte che siano consone alla rarita' dell'oggetto. Faccio presente che il tutto è praticamente NUOVO DI FABBRICA.
Google translates to:

"Sell / Cedo Long Branch # 32 .303 British MK1A Buy rare specimen of optics manufactured in 1943 by the Canadian REL # 32 MK1A built in about 50 pieces (see the book of Peter Laidler on optical British and Canadian Model N ° 32). The author of the book defines VERY RARE. I accept offers which are consonant with the rarity 'of the object. I should note that everything is practically NEW FACTORY."

By the way, although we recommend and prefer posts to be made using English, for the benefit of our foreign members who prefer their native language for ease in reading our content, at the very bottom of your web site browser you'll see a small red square. Looks like this ---> Attachment 41307

It activates Google's Translate Page function and re-displays all of our web pages viewed following it's activation in whatever language chosen. Once activated, you'll see the Google bar at the top of the web page display showing what language our web site is currently being translated to, as well as other options. When finished viewing the site, to switch back to native mode, simply click Original button. To close the Google translate function, click the small X in the top right corner og the Google display, to close it as you would any other program.

Because the Italian text for this ad was buried within an English post, to translate it to English, I told Google to translate the page to any other language first (pick one) and then using the Google bar, to translate back to English, which yielded the translation I showed above. I then selected English to get back to our default page.

Regards,

Anyone looking for wide type L42 nylon sling? THere's a brand new one just out of the wrapping on that auction site. Item 1308-6616-3478. Looks like someone else clearing out his shed!.

I have to say that these slings weren't the best as they were quite slippery when the nylon was new. But they were slightly better and certainly more versatile than the older leather slings. But the later narrower, cotton weave identical design were the best - and still in use! But I digress. Anyway, if you want a new, original 78's/80's sling..............

‘The Pattern Room & Herbert Woodend Memorial’ has video and digital photos from both Museums Tours to England, other video and stills I took on various visits, and more from the National Firearms Centre at Leeds, with their permission for publication of course. DVD also has vision from our Museums Tours in 1998 & 2006. I am sure many forum members will be interested anyway.

The 40-minute DVD has historical details of the Tower of London, the Pattern Room, RSAF Enfield, MOD Nottingham and other related arms manufacture in England. There are images of Herb Woodend (he was camera shy), his contribution and a eulogy for dear Herb. I’m afraid too many cigarettes and more than a fair share of alcohol contributed to the cancer that took him at a relatively early age in July 2003. The whole DVD came together quite well, I am probably my own harshest critic so that serves as a benchmark.

The DVD is $19.50 presented in a plastic folder with sleeve, posted in a special shipper which comes to $9, a total of A$28.50. If anyone would like a copy, contact Ian Skennerton, PO Box 80, Labrador 4215, Australia or idskennerton@hotmail.com We only made a short copy run as the whole episode has been so time and labour intensive.

Cheers, Ian

I see there's a lens cleaning brush & bottle on 'that auction site' currently. The bottle has been put on by someone known to me, though I have no financial interest in it - but I can say the seller is absolutely 100% reliable. No idea whose the brush is. I found both easily by searching on 'enfield sniper'.
Best.

Hello Milsurps Members!

I wanted to put the word out about two upcoming auctions. I am from Rock Island Auction Company. We normally hold 5 auctions per year of two different types. However on January 26th, 2013 we have listed on Proxibid 242 lots of firearms accessories. Click this link to view the many bayonets, US, European and Japanese. Lots of Magazines, Holsters G.I. rigs. Plenty of WWII items, knives, we have scopes old and new. That link will show you the items in a list on our website. If you see something you would like to bid on, click the proxi link to go to the online catalog.

We have never had an internet only auction so those items are only listed on Proxi and no place else. The starting bid is $10 on up. Make sure you read the description as many of the GI rigs have magazines in the pouches!

The other auction is huge! It has nearly 7,000 firearms to be sold over three days in February. Those items are listed right now on our website. Absentee bidding is available on our website right now. That auction will be 2/15 - 2/17, 2013. Click here to view firearms.
In this auction you will see listings with multiple guns. When you see the estimated price of the lot that is for all items in the lot.

For example, lot #307 has 4 military rifles estimated at $900-$1400. If you bid $1000 and won you get all 4 rifles, and the bayonets. (I get that question frequently so I thought I would pass it on now).

Any questions call or email info@rockislandauction.com

Thank you

I don't know if anyone is looking for a Mk2 scope, but there is one at the moment on 'that site' in as new condition. The vendor knows what he is talking about & is absolutely reliable. I suppose it comes down to the old question of how much it makes, but I'd always rather go for a real one rather than a repro., even if it does mean waiting that little bit longer..........

If anyone's interested (I have no financial interest in its sale, by the way), check 1308 3118 0859.
