Help with Arisaka Type 99
I added another rifle to my ever growing milsurp collection today! For $125 there's no way I could pass it up!
I picked up this Arisaka Type 99 Izawa Jyuko 4th series the other day for $125 and I think I got a pretty good deal on it. The mum is still pretty much intact and overall it's in pretty good shape with a real nice shiny bore. The number on the bolt doesn't match the receiver but from what I understand that's not uncommon, the number on the front barrel band is correct however.
One thing I can't figure out are these two little holed prongs sticking out of the front barrel band, anyone know what these are for?

Forend cap is installed incorrectly
The two prongs of the forend cap go into the stock and are held in place by the screws.
