Hi all. Just a quick question. I've been doing some weapon handling drills with my new carbine. And being left handed I think I'd like the push button instead the wing safety. Question is are the two safety's interchangeable? Thanks in advance. Gork

They are interchangeable - pretty easy job to do. - Bob
Gork,
I didn't see your serial # range, But recall you said Late WRA. Any push safety would work, but one marked "EW" would be sweet!
Careful...... Even the Plain Faced push safety is being faked, Though they do work.

GI US Bob,
We need to find that picture JimF had of the cut back pin used to fit the Trigger-Spring-Sear together as a unit for easy installation.
Got a feeling Gork will be needing a set up like it soon.
I recall using a cut down finish nail...... Maybe a #8 ?
I made one like Jim's out of a broken 1/8" drill bit. I think of Jim every time I use it! Also, had to make a longer than standard trigger pin for an Underwood I picked up awhile back - that's a story for a new thread one of these days. Any guess as to why a longer trigger pin would be needed? - Bob
Gork,
I pull the guts out of a plastic Bic pen and cut the very end. Then use it on the rear Trigger Spring.
When doing a R and R of the Trigger housing internals parts, make up a short trigger pin (I cut down nail) that fits just inside the Trigger Housing.

JimF4m1's:
"Assemble with a short pin outside the housing, drop in place, push short pin out with the regular pin."

Brazed/Fab'd TH ?
Nope! It was not due to any metal parts. - Bob
Thanks for the quick response guys. Does not look like a hard job. I've got several lng punches I USA as slave pens when working on other firearms. Painter777. You recall correctly. It is a late WRA. Don't have it handy at this time but the serial number was well in execess of 5 million. Gork
I should get have looked at the photos closer, a long punch will not work. Looks like trigger assembly needs to fit down into the trigger housing. My bad. Gork
Empty shell casing works on rear trigger spring. Op spring guide works on hammer spring.
