Colouring new leather
I relented and purchased some re-pop leather for my 1916 Canadian set, so now I have a set with a mix of the original and the new Y strap.
I've heard of guys "re-finishing" new leather to make it look like the original leather.
Could anyone please give me some suggestions on how to make the new/pale/blonder, leather look like the darker leather to match?
Thanx!

I use this make of leather dye but mainly on wood and I only use the alcohol based version of it.

The Fiebing products are very nice. The dark brown and medium brown have nice color.

In extreme examples you may need to apply dye to both the old and the new pieces. Nice thing about the dye is you can do successive applications to attain the intensity of colour you desire. Go slow. Practice on scrap pieces, old belts, shoe leather, you wife's Coach bag...you get the idea. :)
