Parkerized or Blued?

Are all M1's, USGI and commercial, parkerized, or were some blued?

Which parts? Some parts are blued some parked.

It would depend on the date and maker as to which. Generally, bolts, sears, safeties, triggers and magazine catches were blued.

Plainfield. Post Korean War. 1959-61.

I don't know jack about Plainfields. Any other one and I could have told you.

I have seen Plainfields both parked and blued, and a mixture of both. Early ones used lots of parkerized GI parts. Late Plainfields were generally blued.

Plainfield? All bets are off. I don't know squat about them. USGI? okay, let's talk.
