Rem. Model 11 AA trainer
just aquired a mod.11 anti-aircraft trainer shotgun. It has 4 threaded holes in the receiver ( 2 at front of receiver and 2 at the rear of receiver.), a 26in barrell with a cutts compensator. does anyone else have one of these? Any pics of it mounted on the machine gun simulator? Is it rather rare? I've only heard about them until now.
-
dont think the holes were for the cradle.
Cabelas had one complete FS a while back. pictures of the shotgun.
and the holes may help figure what it is..
i have repaired a few M11,s that were modified for a scope mount.

Where exactly on the receiver are the 4 threaded holes? Photos would really help.
I've seen at least two different types of mounts for the Model 11. One, the Type C16, has 2 large screw head bolts on each side of the cradle at the front and rear position. With the gun in the cradle these bolts match up just about to the front and rear edge of the gun's receiver. But, I don't know if the bolts actually screw into the receiver.

the holes are at the front and rear edges of the receiver. sorry no pics yet, trying to get some of it. is this a rare gun?compared to the other mod.11 riot guns?
-
sounds like a scope or trap sight mount holes.
-
the holes are too big for a scope mount. they are on both sides of the receiver also, front and back i did find a pic of one in a mount. on world guns
-
there is a cutts comp on barrel also
-
The Military Model 11s with Cutts do not have choke markings on the barrel. Is your barrel marked or not?
And, what's the serial number (or number range) of your shotgun?

A. A. trainers observed had 4 holes in receiver. 1in the front, 1 in the back on each side. All observed had cutts on the brl and all were of the sportsman design. They were also equiped with anti aircraft sights.
