Good stuff! I have all the G.I. Carbine books and my Carbine meets or exceeds every criteria for serviceability. I always liked that phrase 'an unusual shade of neutral gray'. I'm afraid most Carbine owners and gun enthusiasts in general do not understand what a serviceable Carbine is or know one when they see one. If they did, they would not try to put a 'finish' on stocks, they would know how to mount the Carbine action in the stock and they would understand why its okay to be 6" high at 100 yds. I'm no gun expert, all I ever did was read the books - its all there!
