I've done the research/search, mixed reviews on Olympic Arms. Wondering if this model # or s.n. could suggest a possibility of an exceptional one? Like new, put 40 rounds down range with flawless function/acceptable accuracy, wondering what it's worth. Thanks for any comments, Don

They do indeed have mixed reviews. I am told that "good" quality lower receivers (as of last gunshow) were going for $550... stripped.
However, I am more interested in the finish/ quality of your lower. Could you post additional photos? Mine has a plethera of machine marks and looks more rough in some areas... that you won't see in "premium" lowers.
BTW, mine starts with a KX and was purchased during the Clinton ban era. Model is: PCR 99.
Not sure what the model numbers actually mean... but your SN indicates a 1993 (?) date of manufacture...

Perhaps you have another "Manufacturer Sample"... but their list doesn't mention anything in the SN range of your rifle.
I'm still on the AR learning curve, MFR= multi function rifle, PCR=political correct rifle. Cast receivers rough and less desirable than forged receivers. Someone suggested that the sure way to tell if your receiver is a forged one is that it will feature the lion logo above s.n. number. I'd love to be corrected here. I'll have a close look at my lower for roughness/machine marks and get back to you. By "Manufacturer Sample" are you suggesting it appears to have a nicer finish than a normal production gun? Could this just be the difference between cast and forged? Got some learning to do here. Thanks for responding, DonQuote:

An acquaintance sold his AR with some minor mods for 4k last week. Don't know what brand though. In today's market I'll bet you could triple what you paid for it providing of course you haven't just paid that really high price.
I had 1500 rounds of Federal/Lake City M193. I mostly plink with my M1 Carbines, since I reload cast for them, so I decided to sell off 500 of the M193 to fund my barrel purchase. I listed it on Gunbroker for $200+, and on a whim put a buy it now price of $325. It sold within 30 minutes of posting it for the buy it now! I paid $6.79/20 ($170/500) for it three months ago. That's insane! I almost doubled my money!

Wow... you took me to school on that one... I wasn't looking for "Multi Function Rifle out of your Model! LOL!!
I did know the PCR was Politically Correct Rifle... this was some joke, as removing the AR or M16 designation made them safer during the Clinton Ban. But Oly pushed it and sold a few.

My PCR SN is around the 4000 mark. Hence my questions on the MFR and machining marks, just as a comparison on "quality". As I recall, it was hard to find stripped lowers back in 94, and I got this one for under $160. Probably closer to $120.

I use mine for hunting fox and coyote up here, as I assembled in on a 20in HBAR.....
Jump it please! That smooth finish you see on my is consistent thru out. Only inside and above the trigger guard on the bottom of the receiver do you see what appears to be a rough seam (???). From the Oly Owners Forum a very helpful gentleman has assured me it is forged, and is the 'service rifle configuration' model K4B. '556' is crudely marked on top of the barrel. I had an Oly Arms catalog and had my eye on a couple of their M4's that I would order through my local GS but that's all changed now. Only modified it with an adjustable stock and then replaced that with a slide fire. Don't know when or where I'll get a chance to test it. Just got it to have some fun.
