447841, thanks!
I have two guns, one above and one below. Almost at the end of production too. 446062 was a rifle that went to the USS Kansas and blew up. 450397 was a rifle that was chambered in 30-03 and is in the SA museum. Here's where you can find what year yours was made. (1903) U.S. Military Dates of Manufacture
Thanks for the info, I may call on you again as I'm am negotiating on another.
Was wondering if anyone can check SRS for my 1898 Krag serial number 372060.
My info shows...371969 and 372109 as both issued to USMC. Also designated a trophy rifle for the Hilton trophy match. The beginning of 370XXX to 375XXX were all showing USMC and there were trophy match numbers. Yours doesn't have to be a trophy, they would have hand selected special rifles I should think.
I would suggest yours might be USMC issue though...at one time. Perhaps...maybe...
Thanks a lot for the info. I haven't disassembled this rifle yet. I'll post photos when I do. Are there any special marking I should look for?
It would probably be marked with a plate imbedded in the stock if it were a trophy rifle. We've seen some like that...I wouldn't hold my breath though, probably just a standard rifle. Dick Hosmer and a few others around here will know if there's anything else. If they happen to come across this thread...
Any info on sn#431550? This was the rifle that ended up a carbine build that Dupage had,and was supposedly a movie gun???
Closest I have is 428429, a rifle that went to State of Maine, and 438047, a 98 rifle that went to Colorado NG...
