This river looks pretty small and narrow to me. The Rhine is huge and wide almost everywhere the allied troops

Would be more correct. IMHO
Very possible - several places on the Rhine that could fit - the image has been used to depict the crossing of other rivers also

Looks like convoy coming from the river,
And POWs heading down to the bridge ?
