I've watched several Youtubes on this M 48 Mauser. I have one I bought in the 80's and it doesn't identify with the ones I've seen.
Here are some descriptions of mine;
1. There doesn't appear to be a production #
2. Butt plate is a cup type. The stock under the butt has a bolt take down hole but the butt has no drilled hole.
3. The follower has a bolt stop for the last shot.
4. Left side shows "Mod 98"? Is this a FN or German mauser?
5. Has a Yugo crest but no M48, M48A, M48B... stamp.
6. Laminate stock
7. Round bolt knob, not a half moon one.
8. Stock cut out for bolt handle.
9. Hand guard stops at rear site, just like a K98
10. No stock serial#.
11. Milled floor plate without a stamped#.
12. Import marks show :Yugoslavia M-4 (no 8) and the importer's stamp.
13. 8 mm mauser which I have fired.
What do I have here?
Thanks,
Mike
