Hi,
My first post.
I just picked up a 1950 LB. s/n 91L8***
1950 barrel, all blued except the mag which is park. It is not numbered. Should the correct mag. be numbered to match on these rifles?
Mike
Ok, I hope this isn't dropping a fly in the ointment but I'm looking at my 1950 No4 Mk1* and the finish is entirely oil baked. It's not blued or parked. It the technique of heating a gun part and then quenching in an oil bath and the oil oxidizes onto the metal and forms a protective coating. The finish is a satiny black. Serial number 92L9862.
Who has rifle number 95L3195?
I've got your mag.
92L8xxx blued, 50, blued, blued, blued. Canadian Army marks. Mint.
On my 1950 dated Longbranch No4 MKI* :
93L5XXX
Everything is blued, no parkerization at all. I have not removed the handguard to check the barrel date, but the receiver & bolt match and are original (no previous # line outs).
1950 Long Branch No4 MK1*
92L5008 all blued , barrel '50 blued
91L8311 all matching, even LB mag (Greek?), everthing blued; 50 barrel.
3mctoledo: You can tell the Greek rifles, the s/n is on the mag minus the L.
