This has to be an assumption, unless you know of this particular rifle?
It seems like an awful lot of machining to mess up a very valuable action? And for what purpose?

The other anomaly seems to be that the serial number is stamped into the bolt handle. All the ones I have owned and seen have been electro pencilled. Anyone got a stamped one?

Comparison of the length of the front receiver ring dove tail confirms that the action in question is an m85.
