As far as barrels go and dating what is on your SP, remember that SP used barrels (mostly Underwood) from the Free Barrel Program. So the date of the barrel may not accurately date the production date of the receiver or complete program. If the barrel is original to the carbine, the carbine production/assembly would be a date AFTER the date of the barrel.
