I'm not chopping a .30-06 to see what that feels like, but my No. V Mk1 came stock in 1944 with a 3/4 inch vulcanized rubber recoil pad....Because you NEEDED it! But this Frankenrifle was assembled by some individual trying to pretend that it's something it isn't....Some peoples' kids....
