I have seen a number of old threads about the Chiappa/Citadel .22LR M1 Carbine, and thought that rather than re-hash old discussions, I'd simply start a new one.
I did it. I bought one. Given the price of .30 ammo, I was looking for a plinker, and was in the market.
I had the cash, Cabela's had a few, and the price could not be beat to begin with. Then, at the checkout, some unpublished sale kicked in and it was even cheaper. NIB, 2 magazines, well under $250.
I have not fired it yet, but the overall workmanship is very very good. I have no problem with the plastic/polymer parts (my Glocks have a few). The only thing that bugs me initially is that I cannot fit a sling and oiler into the stock slot together. I'll figure something out.
When viewed side-by-side with my 1943 Underwoods, they are virtually indistinguishable from each other.
I look forward to firing it and giving some info as soon as possible............
