Are you referring to the .22 rf single shot Ross rifle? I would suggest that you only shoot standard velocity (no hi velocity) ammunition or shorts. Hi Speed cartridges over time will break parts and the cases will self eject from the gun.
I have a couple of them and the markings on them are very different. one has the c and broad arrow on the receiver, barrel plus the stock while the other one doesnt and only has the Quebec marker on the stock with the different rack numbers and regimental numbers. Does anyone know the difference?
Interweb is quite vague on the matter... if you shoot yours...what brand of shells do you use? I thought T22's would be the ticket, but the Chrono says they are rolling about 1250 fps, better with old Dominion fodder... only 1100-1150 fps.
I'm thinking subsonic is gonna be the end desire... that weak arse stuff for acreage owners to use to not offend the neighbors.
They are a cute little rifle. Any markings on the woodwork?
I use CCI standard velocity target in my 1912. Velocity is 1070 fps with 40 gr. lead round nose bullets.

Don,t use shorts they don,t shoot very good in rifles chambered for .22 long rifle.
