Wa;mart regularly has Remington 110 FMJ for $25 a box. I shoot it for target since I use Remington 110 JSP for "duty" and it shoots the same. Herters is steel cased Ulyvostok.
thanks, I haven't checked walmart. I'll have to go see what they have.
I've fired a couple of boxes of Herter's--one through each Carbine. At the time, it was almost all that was available. No issues, but I have read that the steel cases can be really hard on the extractors, so I keep my remaining Herter's in the bottom of the ammo can as backup.
Right now AIM has Priv 30 carbine FMJ and SP for $18 and change a box and the Priv is good brass cased ammo.
for the same price as In fact, AIM has Prvi JSP for same price as JSP. Really good ammo. It is a little slower than Remington, but not by much (maybe 50 FPS).
Does anybody shoot the old WWII ammo made by King City or Western.......or is this stuff just for collectors?
I've shot some (about 2 dozen or so) that was without a box and tarnished - not particularly collectable. It shot well, though it actually seemed warmer than the RP FMJ. For the most part it is too expensive to shoot.
I have 3 boxes of Western Cartridge Co., one of which the box is damaged. The other two, however, are nice with no tarnish. I have shot about 250 rounds of old 43' WCC ammo, and besides 20% of the cases splitting length wise, they all shot true. Fatigued brass is all I can think of. I'll probably sell or shoot the other 3 boxes, because I won't use them for HD.
