Remington O3-A3
The sn#3492942 puts it at 1942 but the two groove barrel is RA 1-44. The parts marked R are; R front sight, R nose cap (blued),R front band stacking swivel (blued),R rear band swivel (blued),R bolt body (blued), R stamped ON OFF (parked),R safety tab (parked), R trigger assembly (blued), rear sight marked R. The butt plate is smooth, the sling swivel is R and parked. The walnut "C" stock has the (P) and J stamp, also a (1) 33 5 stamped in front of mag well. The underside of barrel is stamped P twice. There are no re-arsenal stamps on the stock. The stock has a couple of minor dings but is otherwise in excellent condition. I will post pics later.

The date of manufacture is actually about March, 1943 (there are a couple of date of manufacture tables online that list "all" M1903A3s as 1942). It appears, from your description, like your rifle has some mixed parts - probably the result of an overhaul.

The date I got was on the Old Guns sticky. The bolt is stamped R on top of the bolt root.

The Oldguns sticky is incorrect (I think Badger put a "correction" note with it). Try Vishooter's website (which I think is also a sticky on this website) and you'll get a better "read". For some reason, on Oldguns, all Remington M1903s are listed as "1941" and all Remington M1903A3s are listed as "1942". In reality, only a very small percentage of both rifles were manufactured during those years.
