That rifle was listed on GB in an auction that ended June 8. High bid was $2,155 which was below reserve.
Any comments as to it's authenticity? If anyone out there with access to the SRS Database could do a check on the serial number, it would be appreciated. No, the rifle is not mine, nor am I bidding on this one... I picked up one a few months ago for a cool $2500, and it was listed in the SRS Database as an NRA Sporter from 1931.
Thanks to all for your continued commentary... I continue to be amazed at the amounts of knowledge out there possessed by the experts concerning these fine rifles. No matter how much I read the books on these rifles, this database, more specifically this forum, continues to be THE source of information on anything and everything 1903 related. :super:
Serial numbers 1367207 thru 1367228 are listed as Sporters.
it is listed on my list of DCM sales 1922-1942 as a NRA sporter.
nice rifle, well worth more then 2500.00
I paid $5,700 for a 99% gun last year and $1,400 for another that had had its barrel dovetailed, the dovetail repaired, and re-blued.
