ishapore 2a1-- scope mounting?
Hi.. I am new to this forum. I collect m14/m1as, Beretta BM 59s, and now I am starting on
Lee-Enfield (best bolt action battle rifle) . I got a deal on two ishapores ( I like the NATO round,,, and it chambers in all my other rifles.)
I would like to build one of these up as a Sniper with a NUMRICH aftermarket kit.
How were the sniper versions of these rifles loaded? The scope gets in the way of the stripper clip?
I know the Ishapore models were patterned after the SMLE#1 mk III.
Snipers were also built off of no 4 rifles.
Thanks

Ishapore 2A with PH5A sight, 100yd group - zeroed for 200yds
Attachment 39361Please find a group shot last year with the tuned Ishapore as previously described. I would have put this in the range report milsurp online competition but it is shot against squares and diamonds (not circles) and my goal was to step up to a 200 yard zero. The Federal white box 155g FMJ arcing 2" high at 100yds or there abouts...a 1" mean radius centered .25 left.
This rifle came to me with a white washed front sight, which is very effective - I occaisionally added a checkerboard tip with a sharpie (alternating half width squares) and that helped me with destination contrast and give "favors" without clicks.
My brother came to town (from the UK) and having shot very little was ringing gongs at 200yds with 10 mins of technique coaching, then observing FoF with no changes (muscle memory) and I had him add 4 or so clicks on each scale to stay off the dirt and in the steel - big grins!:D
