You need a Drill Rilfe? Lots around for cheap money.
Didn't know they were drill rifles.
Just called them and they did say they are drill rifle recoveries.
I have not seen any 03A3's at all for inexpensive.
I'm actually looking for something cheap to build into a sporter as I have a nice one that is staying original. Would one of the Sarco's be a good candidate for a sporter ?
Drill rifles are around at the big gunshows. Usually cheap. SARCO has a poor reputation and well known for Chinese parts. Expect Chinese parts, for sure.
Before diving into this project you you might want to price Remington, Savage and maybe
Ruger sporting rifles.
Using a military rifle was the only way to go from about 1930 to 1950. Since the mid 60's it became less cost effective and today is just sort of dumb.
Regards,
Jim
Unless you are after a "project" as much as a rifle the Ruger American Rifle is outstanding and a great value.
Thanks for the replies,
Only new rifles I like are Savage, but the 03A3 has always been my favorite and one of my most accurate rifles.
The Savage rifles are not very pretty but they can cook. Very accurate in my experiance.
You can find an A3 that is already been sporterized. I have seen a lot of them and often they are pretty cheap.
I agree that most Savage rifles rock and are a great value.
