Underwood Proof Marks

I just bought an Underwood M1, stock and receiver numbers match, barrel is marked " Underwood 11 43 " with the bomb. I would like to know if the other proof marks are matching, the mag has IA , barrel band has AI , stock has O.G. on the left side, P-J in the sling well and PO on the bottom of the grip. I bought it from a friend who found it several years ago ,over the rafters of an old home he had bought. Any info would be greatly appreciated, I need to try to put a value on it. My pics are not good quality, had to use a cellphone.

The value could range from $400 on up to over a thousand depending on what parts it has, and the condition it's in. Most were re-built and the collector value is much lower than carbines that weren't re-built.

If you'll post detailed photos of the carbine and all the parts you can, these guys can give you a very close value in the current market.

The photos are very blurry and it is difficult to make out any details.

If the gun were original, most all the parts would be marked with either .U. or a two-letter code with one of the letters being a U. Underwood made most of their own parts, so the .U. is most common. The second letter on the two-digit marks is the subcontractor code.

Looking at the pictures, I can tell you that while it may be all military, it certainly is not original. It has gone through at least one rebuild. The sight, mag catch, barrel band and safety are all incorrect for ani original carbine.
