Hi Guys,
I am trying to locate a 4X for my rifle. Can someone help me figure out which scope has the most eye relief? I am partial to the Kahles name due to past experience with them.

Hi Guys,
I am trying to locate a 4X for my rifle. Can someone help me figure out which scope has the most eye relief? I am partial to the Kahles name due to past experience with them.
My rifle...
Aha! I gotcha now. There are no cartouches on the stocks anywhere, not even faint ones. I was getting info from a chap on another forum when I first got this Krag and was going by what he was telling...
I totally agree, which is why it is what's it worth?
I know bubba makes things as valuable a well, not much. I can take it. Goal is to not rip off a friend, and not give it away either.
GB is all...
I'm not sure how to reply to that. Sorry if not getting my serial number offends you or mildly amuses you. The thread was asking for help to put a value on the firearm. ;)
I was interpreting your...

Rifle sold. Mods please delete.
Cheers MCB, never heard of that product but I will see if I can find some.
Finally got my Mag in the mail yesterday too so my project is now finished, as far as I want to go anyway. Looks much...
Hey boys!
Happy to say say my Handguard arrived today. It is a real beauty and will match the other wood perfect. Upon close inspection though it has at least four dry out cracks. No idea how long...
Just the answer I was looking for! Thanks a bunch John. Looks like I will be trading a member here for a Metford hand guard and then I hope to just solder a staple on the mag I already have. The...
Hi Jon,
I have a design all made up for the Griffin mount and a guy with a CNC mill, it would look great but still not "period" like a stamped Weaver. Too many options.....
Regardless the mount...
Cool, thanks!
I'll keep you posted bigduke. Promised it to one guy already but I have not heard back from him yet. I might offer to trade with someone for a Metford or Long Lee hand guard depending on how things...
Hey guys.
Have this mag that I was hoping to use in my Lee Metford seeing as no 10 shot one has surfaced I thought this one would do. Turns out the staple is too high, and the lips I am not sure...
Before you faint, it was not I who drilled the holes, I swear!
Bought this carbine a couple years ago, first owner on record got it when he returned from WWII, fired three rounds through it and...
Well guys time for a little update I guess.
Grampa's rifle is officially back to the way it was when I was almost four years old, sitting on the floor staring at it leaning up against the wood box...
Yup, identical to the one I picked up for $40. I was wondering if I was missing something with all the posts about the 1860's guns.
They sure made a shooter of the one I had, the most accurate...
Lou,
Pretty sure the little No 4 I had was done by Whitworth. It had a five shot mag and was polished up as nice as any could be (not including a Lee Speed of course). That gun would shoot too. It...
Hey guys.
I have great news, I put a WTB ad on CGN last night after posting this thread and I already have the different cocking piece and also the rear leaf sight cap(?) on its way.

Ned,
Sadly yes, that is a scope mount. Such a shame buddy had to do that only a year before deciding to sell it, his father in law bought it when he got home from WWII and only fired three rounds...
Bearhunter,
The front sight looks like it could be a Marbles retro fit. Same thing was done to my carbine. I ended up taking a bronze coin to the lathe and turned it to the proper width then cut...
:super:
Today is a good day!
Four years ago I sold Grampa's 1916 No1 MKIII. :slap: The bore was gone and it was destined to be a wall hanger once it was fitted with full wood.
I always...
Rod,
the best way to sell it would be to sell it to me.
I pm'd you my contact info, and even live in Cochrane as well.
Hope it is still available.
Cheers,
Noel
I will take it up home this weekend and if the hunting is slow will take some pics.
As to loads I rarely shoot factory fodder. Been trying to find something similar to the load they used for the...
Hopefully my dream LE will be making it's way back to me, my Grandpa's No 1 MK III Built on his birth year, 1917. The bore is all but gone and I sold it thinking I'd just put his stocks on another...
