just curious, why not keep the barrel in the gun?
nice looking pistola, now you're going to get hooked. You can't just have one....!
I don't know about the rear sight assembly, but you see the original mags come up for sale on Gunbroker from time to time. Make sure you get originals, marked M2. Also, be forewarned that they don't...
Now THAT is a real treat!!:clap
Well, after a LOT of springs and experimentation, I finally got a spring to work (starting with heavier/longer springs and slowly working down).
It is a Wolff 9# reduced power recoil spring for a...
no actually, we said that the chamber was a bit too small. Everything looked fine, no rust, etc. First he just tried polishing the chamber a tiny bit, but this didn't help. He then took a match...
Well, I got this rifle fixed, what was the problem? It was a bad chamber! Wow, never expected to hear that from my gunsmith. Anyway, it's fixed now, shoots and extracts like a champ every time.

Hi,
It's actually a 1st year production Colt Ace (1931...). I figured I would try a bunch of different springs, starting with the heavier springs and working my way lighter, until I find something...
Hi,
I have a fist year production Colt ACE pistol. It's not a .22 conversion unit. It's a very nice 'shooter condition' gun. I took it to the range this weekend and was getting a lot of stovepipes...
Hi, I actually have tried a number of things, none of them have worked so far - replaced the main spring, replaced the firing pin, replaced the extractor. All give me the same result (that is the...
I got mine too, spent the evening leafing through it. Lots of great pictures and info....!
Hi Folks - I have a 1922 M2 that I am having some trouble with, was hoping that there might be an expert or two that could give me some advice. I am pretty new to these guns so forgive me....I am...
Glad to see that this is finally hitting the bookshelves, I know he had some issues with the publisher that caused some delays....
That's good to know! Thanks,
Thank you, I have found a spring to try out, but will also keep these places bookmarked for future reference!
I need a Main Spring (firing pin spring). I ordered one from Numrich and sure enough, it was rusty. I should have known better to order from them, so shame on me. Does anyone have a source for some...
Not one, but two. Excellent!
nice looking pistola!!
I assumed that it did not sell, since in the document listing the auction results, they do not have that item number listed along with the price realized. (this is the .pdf file of the results, as...
It seems that a few go through the RIA auction house every year. At this December auction there was a second one that was 'professionally restored' that looks to have sold.
That's amazing, I guess that I shouldn't be surprised. I wonder how you actually can show/prove that is happening??
I noticed that the gun did not sell. Was it pulled from the auction or was there a reserve on the gun (that wasn't met). Anybody know? Just curious....
Mine is about 300 numbers higher than the one that you are looking at and it does have the S on it....
Hi Oldcanuck,
Does your #55 actually have #56 on the trigger? It doesn't look like it's a 55...
it looks like the SN is 1084446, but I can't be 100% certain. If it is that, then it falls within the range for a US&S....definitely need more pictures to figure out authenticity/value.
