When I got my Eddystone M1917 several years ago it did not have a stacking swivel. I found one at the gun show that was E marked.

I have 4 t-99 bring backs and fortunately they are all matching but do have the defaced mum. Don't do anything to the stock that you may latter regret. Enjoy your t-99...they are fun to shoot.:)

Jimhow...Nice looking T-99. The screws do appeared staked. The Series 3 are estimated produced Sept. '42 to Jan. '43. (The Japanese Type 99 Arisaka Rifle).

I've got 100 once fired 303 HXP brass for sale if anyone here needs it.

I have a real nice 5th series vet bring back and the screws are still staked. No way I will booger them up either.

That is one nice T-99 with all the goodies on it. Your 5th series did not come with a monopod.:)

Your type 99 does appear to be a series 23 made made somewhere between July '43 to March 1944. Your serial number is an early 23 series and it should have had a monopod when made, although it does...

My Eddystone has it's original barrel 1-18 and missed any rebuilds. So far it shoots the HXP ammo very well, better than my reloads but not by much.

I once found a real nice T-99 at the LGS and he wanted just to much. It was on consignment and I told the shop salesman to give the owner a call and see if he would take the price I felt it's worth....

Toyo Kogyo did produce a series 33 and your serial number would be near the end of the production. From what I can find, there were numerous part changes made during the latter part of the 33rd...

Do some research on the series number found on the receiver. Your stock may not be a duffle cut.

Have you shot it yet? I reload for mine and they are a great shoot rifle. You got a real good buy and did a great job of cleaning it up. I got my first T-99 at a flea market for $75 that was matching...

Does the serial number on the bolt match that on the receiver? If so, you got a good buy.:thup:

Interesting rifle. Was the ID tag attached when you got it? Looks like maybe it was on display somewhere.

I shot my Inland carbine in our clubs vintage rifle match last month. Lots of fun to shoot but my eyes are getting too old to be very competitive.
