I was using handloads and I generally don't use factory ammo. With my M1 I've learned to tighten the gas plug so I do that as well. The trigger is NM spec and breaks real nice. Stock is tight. My...
Well I sucked bad. I know what I need to do to correct and that is more practice. Weather was horrible on Sat. The wind blew to 50mph and we had three target stands rip apart so we had to call the...
We had a practice today and I took advantage of it and got some good dope on it. 2-300 yards are locked in and there wasn't enough time to get a full dope at 600. It's grouping well. Getting 9's and...
Bought this from Tony at Orion7. I am well pleased with it and hope to see what it will do in it's first match this weekend. It is a Fulton Armory receiver, NM barrel, Fulton bolt, NM sights, HRA and...
Walnut just looks right. No other wood does it for me. I just got done with a Russian that had a ton of the crappy laquer just globbed on it. So I couldn't stand it and decided to use laquer thinner...
I don't take anyones load info off of the internet so you need not worry. That can be a sure receipe for disaster. Even manuals can have typos that can have bad things happen.
Had a day at the range and got alot accomplished. Here is some of it.

You spend alot up front to reload. A Lee Challenger press kit will go for $110-120 to get you rolling. 50 pieces of brass $25 X however many you want to load for. Garands are hungry so you may need...
This seems like an easy to figure out question but alas the obvious sometimes escapes my grasp. How do I lower the hammer so it is not under spring tension without pulling the trigger everytime?
Got this from Tony at Orion7. Aint she purtty?? :D Till I got this I have never shot one let alone held one. I am more than blown away by this rifle. Excellent workmanship and very accurate. Such...
I finally got a chance to take out my 03A3 to the range. It shot beautifully. I cast up some 314299 loads with h4895, 3031, 4227,2400, RL7 at reduced charges @ 1700 fps. Excellent accuracy at 2-2.5"....
Rick thank you for the update. Since I'm a total nyophyte on the 03 his 89 book will at least me get familiar with the rifle.
I know I'm 7 months too late with this but I'm new. I just got his booked used on Amazon for $29.99. I couldn't tell it was used. Very nice shape.
I'll give a report about my range experience this weekend. Thanks again, Mike
JGaynor and Chuck, Thanks alot for your advice. I took out the bolt and slid the go gauge under the extractor and slid it home. Sucess!!! No go wouldn't go!!! So now as Chuck said shoot and enjoy...
Thanks for the replies. Serial #3706446, barrel is 6/43. They appear to be a match by the info found on this website. Bolt appears to be SC as well. Only thing not origial is stock which was...
Hope someone has an answer for me because I am confused. I ordered Clymer headspace gauges from Brownells. Put in the go gauge and it wouldn't chamber. Tried the no-go gauge and of course it wouldn't...
It has nothing on top of the bolt. I checked the headspace with a new unfired dummy cartridge. Thanks for the help. Mike
Emmagee, I tried your quick and dirty method and it looks like it is within the 3 tape thicknesses. However I don't want to chance ruining me or a good rifle so I ordered headspace gauges for it to...
Any of you fellas shoot cast in your 03? If so what type of bullet? Do you cast your own? I cast bullets for all of my guns except the 204.
thanks for the help guys. I appreciate it. Rick, I'll work on my picture takin skills.
$795, maybe a bit high. All my guns are shooters. Wall hangers don't make sense to me. Well maybe an old flintlock above the fireplace. I hate animal prints but it's the only type of blanket my wife...
I'm new here so I don't want to be the one to tell you that you screwed up. So I won't tell you.;)
