It is for a receiver sight. My best guess would be for a Mables-Goss target peep sight.
The blocks pictured in the middle and on the right are Unertl Posa-mount bases. The half moon cutout is the feature they have.

I picked up one of these yesterday. Slide, frame and barrel serial numbers do not match but all have the 359 waffenampt on them. Is there any way to tell if this so a last ditch pistol or a post war...
I paid a lot less that that for mine and it had a rear sight. but it does shoot well. The trigger is not a nice as I would have hoped but it does perform well. And I wouldn't sell it for what that...
toss it in a box and send it to me I have the parts and can fix it.
I have GI springs that are new in cosmolene. I'll give you one for the cost of postage if that is your problem. Try cleaning as Chuck suggested.
I came across this barrel in a pile of stuff on a freind's gun show table. Any ideas as to who made it or where to get auxiliary chamber for it? It appears to take an insert similar to a Tokarev...
from the front of he HG to the center of the first clip 1 5/16" , from the front of the HG to the center of the 2nd clip (rear) 5 1/2". checked 3 handguards I had on hand.
weaver made bases for the 513, the above mount mentioned may also work but if you don't have holes already drilled you'll have to get that done for either. Redfield also made a scope base for the 513...
